Wolves fans respond to new signing Luke Matheson on Twitter

Luke Matheson shares his delighted on social media after he completed a move to Wolverhampton Wanderers from League One side Rochdale.

Wolves completed a deal for the 17-year-old on deadline day before the January transfer window shut and he’s returned to Rochdale for the remainder of the season on loan.

The defender is a highly-rated talent to come out of the Rochdale academy and he will link up with the Wolves squad for the start of next season at Molineux.

Matheson made his senior debut aged just 15 back in 2018 and since then has been a permanent around the first-team squad.

The right-back has played in 24 games across all competitions this season and his goal against Manchester United in the Carabao Cup really helped his rise to fame.

He sent a message following his completed transfer to the West Midlands.

“Delighted to announce that I have signed for Wolves such a prestigious club with a phenomenal fan base! I can’t wait to get started! Proud to be part of the pack!” Matheson wrote on his personal Twitter account.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media responded to the teenager’s post and are excepting big things from him in the future.

He looks like he may be a great fit at wing-back in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side in the future and he is definitely going to be closely watched for the rest of the season at Rochdale.
