Wolves fans react to Ruben Vinagre’s performance against Everton

Wolverhampton Wanderers fell to their first Premier League defeat of the season against Everton on Sunday.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were beaten 3-2 at Goodison Park, with a late Richarlison goal stealing the points for the hosts.

The result means Wolves are still yet to actually record a win in the league, and they sit 17th after four games.

It was a frantic game and Wolves struggled in the defensive phase, with Willy Boly, Conor Coady and Ryan Bennett all looking shaky for the visitors.

One man who also had a tough afternoon was Ruben Vinagre at left wing-back.

The 20-year-old was given the nod ahead of the more experienced Jonny Otto, but the Portuguese youngster had a poor game.

Many fans were dismayed by his tendency to bomb forwards, as it appeared to come at the expense of his defensive responsibilities.

Few Wolves players came in for credit online after the game from fans, but Vinagre appeared to receive most of the criticism.

It is fair to say a lot of fans were unconvinced by him, and many were calling for Espirito Santo to recall Jonny, who had a brilliant 2018/19, to the starting XI after the international break:
