A number of Wolverhampton Wanderers fans have taken to Twitter to comment on reports from the Daily Mail suggesting that Nuno Espirito Santo is interested in Newcastle United’s Allan Saint-Maximin.
The Daily Mail reports that Wolves are bracing themselves for interest in Adama Traore after the winger’s sensational campaign at Molineux.
Adama has been outstanding, with four goals and seven assists in the Premier League. And while Wolves will surely want to do all they can to keep the former Barcelona man, it appears that they are also making plans for his potential departure.
The Mail suggests that Wolves are keen on Saint-Maximin, who cost Newcastle £16 million when he signed a six-year deal last summer.
Saint-Maximin has scored one goal and contributed one assist in the top flight since moving to St James’ Park. But his statistics arguably do not do justice to how dangerous he has often looked.
He has been a real shining light in what has often been an underwhelming season for Newcastle fans. And it is unlikely that the Magpies will show any willingness to let him go.
Plenty of Wolves fans on social media have expressed their hope that they will not need to worry about losing Adama anyway.
But several have insisted that Saint-Maximin would be a good replacement if he did leave. They believe that he has the potential to emulate Adama in the future.
Here is what some of the Wolves supporters make of the reports…
Nobody can really replace adama though
