Wolverhampton Wanderers star Diogo Jota is reportedly attracting interest from Premier League rivals Arsenal – and some Wolves fans have responded on Twitter to claim he shouldn’t take a step down by joining them.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal are looking to strengthen in wide areas in the next transfer window and now have the Wolves attacker on their radar.
The report details that Jota’s former club Atletico Madrid would earn a proportion of any transfer fee, so Wolves would demand a high price for him if he was to exit Molineux.
Jota helped fire Wolves to promotion from the Championship in the 2017/18 campaign and since joining permanently has been a key player in Nuno Espirito Santo’s team.
The Portugal international is a versatile forward that can operate as either a left-winger or in a more central striker position next to teammate Raul Jimenez.
He’s played 37 games across all competitions this season for Wolves so far, scoring 15 goals and supplying six assists to grab the attention of Arsenal.
The 23-year-old scored back-to-back hat-tricks during the Europa League campaign this year and is a talent that keeps improving.
A selection of Wolves supporters on social media believe that Jota is too valuable to let go and took a dig at Arsenal, as they are currently above them in the Premier League table and have progressed further than them in the Europa League too this season.
Here are some Wolves fans responding to Arsenal’s interest in Jota:

Why would he want to go to a mid-table club and play for a boss who plays for a draw
