Wolves endured a sticky start to the season as they attempted to juggle their European commitments in the Europa League with continuing to progress in the Premier League, but they are coming through it now.
It has been well-documented that the Thursday-Sunday regime can sap the energy of top flight clubs, but the Old Gold look to have got the hang of it.
They snatched a last-minute winner away from home against Besiktas on Thursday night, grabbing all three points from a tricky away trip via Willy Boly.
And as they travelled to the Etihad Stadium to face a Manchester City side with more days to rest and looking to cut the gap atop the Premier League table back down to five points, it was a real test of their energy reserves.

They passed that test with flying colours, producing a resolute defensive display with enough freshness to counter at speed twice in the closing stages of the match, when Adama Traore rampaged away to net a double.
Traore’s pace has always been obvious but he went through a stage of adjustment last season, and has seemingly settled on right wing back, after a spell as a striker in his maiden Molineux campaign.
And his end product is obviously improving two, as his two composed finishes past Ederson showed, and quite rightly, the Wolves fans were absolutely over the moon on Twitter…
