Wolves fans react praise Ki-Jana Hoever for display against Manchester United
Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered a cruel defeat away to Manchester United on Tuesday night in the Premier League – but some of the club’s fans on Twitter gave huge praise to their youngster Ki-Jana Hoever for his performance at Old Trafford.
Wolves were heading for a point until Marcus Rashford’s deflected shot in the 93rd minute gifted Man United a late victory.
Nuno Espirito Santo’s went toe-to-toe with second-placed Man United in their own backyard and there wasn’t much between the two teams, but ultimately they left with nothing and have just one point from their last three games.
A selection of Wolves supporters on social media picked out 18-year-old full-back Hoever as a real bright spark from the 1-0 defeat.
Hoever completed a move to Molineux in the summer window from Liverpool and before Tuesday night his only Wolves appearances had been earlier in the league season with late cameos from the bench.
But the highly-rated Dutch teenager made his first start for the club against Man United, as he slotted into the right wing-back position ahead of experienced teammate Nelson Semedo.
It was an encouraging full debut from him where he battled hard defensively against Rashford and looked composed in possession.
Here are some Wolves fans discussing Hoever:
Positives from match
Hoever is good
Saiss is probably our best defender
Vitinha is what the midfield was missing
Aït-Nouri is not that bad
