Wolvers are reportedly set to complete the loan signing of Real Sociedad striker Willian Jose until the end of the season and finally replace the loss of injured Raul Jimenez – promotion reaction from Wolves supporters.
Jose, 29, has caught the eye of numerous Premier League clubs over the past couple of seasons – having netted a huge 60 goals in 169 appearances for Sociedad. This season, though, his goal return has reduced somewhat.
The uncapped Brazilian striker has started just nine of his 20 league and cup appearances – scoring only four goals for Sociedad. He is now on the verge of completing a move to Wolves, on a loan-to-buy deal.
Indeed, The Athletic report that Wolves are closing in on a move for the Brazilian ace who is renowned for his powerful style of play and presence in the air. He certainly boasts a lot of similar traits to Raul Jimenez.
Fabio Silva scored against West Brom in last weekend’s 3-2 defeat to West Brom while Patrick Cutrone has returned to the club from Fiorentina. But the signing of Jose is likely to see him emerge as first choice.
Wolves fans have responded to the reported news on Twitter as the Midlands side finally bring in a striker to replace the injured Jimenez – and many are delighted to see the addition of an experienced La Liga ace.
Watch us fly up the league now 👏🏼 well done everyone involved
