Wolves fans react as club reportedly eyeing Gennaro Gattuso

Wolverhampton Wanderers are reportedly interested in raiding Serie A side to lure Gennaro Gattuso to Molineux in the summer if Nuno Espirito Santo and the Midlands club part ways – and Wolves supporters have reacted to the reports on Twitter.

Wolves currently sit way down in 12th place having gone far in last season’s Europa League. But they failed to qualify for Europe this season, and their form has been questionable. The loss of Raul Jimenez has proved decisive, winning just nine of 27.

Nuno has been linked with a move away and while he has a contract at Molineux until the summer of 2023, he could decided to leave Wolves in the coming months. Gattuso, 43, has emerged as a possible candidate to replace Santo, should he leave.

TuttoMercatoWeb suggest as much, with Napoli sitting in sixth place in Serie A and five points off the top four – but with a game in hand. Gattuso has surpassed 250 games in management this season, having managed Pisa, Milan, Crete and Palermo.

Wolves fans have reacted on Twitter to reports that the club could consider Gattuso if Santo decides to leave the club – and many believe he would be a decent appointment should their current boss depart.
