Wolves fans react as club announce signing of Renat Dadashov

Wolverhampton Wanderers have announced they have signed Azerbaijani striker Renat Dadashov from Estoril.

The Black Country club have landed the promising 20-year-old on a four-year deal and immediately loaned him back out to Portuguese outfit Pacos de Ferreira.

Speaking about the capture, sporting director Kevin Thelwell said: “Renat is an exciting prospect who we have been monitoring closely over the past season and we’re delighted to welcome him to the club.

“Renat has all the characteristics we look for in a Wolves player and now departs for Pacos de Ferreira determined to develop into an even better footballer for his return in a year’s time.”

The starlet scored four goals in 22 Liga Pro appearances last term and has three caps for his country at senior level.

Dadashov now moves to Pacos for a year, which is where first-team forward Diogo Jota began his playing career.

The move comes out of nowhere, and it’s safe to say it wasn’t the announcement fans were expecting.

With 48 hours remaining until the transfer window closes, fans are clamouring to see new first-team faces at Molineux.
