Wolves fans react as Arsenal reportedly working on deal to sign maestro Ruben Neves
Arsenal are reportedly working on a deal to sign Wolves midfielder Ruben Neves this summer. The Portugal international has been the face of his side’s growth over the last few years. But now, Neves could leave Wolves to join Arsenal as per The Times – and Wolves fans have reacted on Twitter.
Neves, 24, joined Wolves in the summer of 2017 from FC Porto. Since then, he has clocked up a whopping 176 appearances in all competitions for the Midlands outfit. The midfielder has a reputation of scoring goals from long range, while also boasting an impressive array of passing – long and short.
The Times claim that Arsenal are working on a deal to sign Portugal international Neves. The player has entered the last two years of his Wolves contract and now, it is clear that the Gunners are looking to take advantage. The Athletic claimed earlier this month Wolves want £35million.
What are Wolves fans saying about Arsenal and Neves?
The Gunners need a midfielder. Dani Ceballos has returned to Real Madrid after two years on loan. Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira – who have been out on loan for the last 12 months – are set to leave permanently. Thomas Partey needs a partner in midfield, and Neves would suit him.
Wolves fans have reacted on Twitter to the reports that their star midfielder could be about to depart, for Arsenal. Many have responded to the reports, with the majority underlining how big a loss he would be. Some discussed a price, while one fan made the ambitious claim: “Partey swap deal”.
