Wolverhampton Wanderers ace Adama Traore has pulled out of the Spain squad with an injury.

Traore has been replaced in the squad by Pablo Sanabria, the Spanish national team’s official Twitter account has confirmed. The injury is not specified.

The 23-year-old played for Wolves against Aston Villa at the weekend. In the West Midlands derby, Wolves claimed the bragging rights with a 2-1 win. Traore was a constant menace throughout with his pace and skill.

He caused problems down Aston Villa’s left flank throughout the game and hit the crossbar. Traore also provided the assist for Raul Jimenez to make it 2-0 later in the game.

Traore is currently at the centre of a tug of war between Spain and Mali. However, he represented Spain at U21 level. The rapid winger was born in Spain to Malian parents and he received call-ups from both.

In a strange week, he declared his intention to play for Mali but was then called up to the Spanish squad. But he has now dropped out with an injury. Here are some tweets from Wolves fans after hearing this news.
