Wolves fans rage at Morgan Gibbs-White performance against Besiktas

Morgan Gibbs-White started in the Europa League game away to Turkish club Besiktas on Thursday – and some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans on Twitter ripped him to shreds for his performance.

The 19-year-old lasted just over an hour before he was substituted off in the Europa League group stage match.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side did end up securing a vital 1-0 away victory, as defender Willy Boly capped off a great performance with a 93rd minute winner that he tucked into the bottom corner with his weaker left foot.

The West Midlands club started the campaign in poor fashion, but are now beginning to build up some real momentum with a string of positive results.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media were left disappointed by Gibbs-White’s contribution despite a European win.

The attacking midfielder is a highly-rated talent to come out of the academy and has been around the senior squad for some time at Molineux, but has struggled at times this season.

He was unable to make the difference against Besiktas, as he lacked the final touch going forward and rushed everything.

There is uncertainty from supporters about how big a role he can play this season and he will certainly have to improve to moving forward.
