Wolves may have spent big in pursuit of their lofty ambitions but there are some cut-price gems in their squad who have been vital along the way too.

Matt Doherty is one and Ryan Bennett, who signed for the club on a free transfer in 2017 having been released by Norwich (BBC) is another.

Bennett made his 100th Premier League appearance yesterday, coming off the bench early on for Romain Saiss to help Wolves secure a memorable 2-0 victory over reigning Premier League champions Manchester City.

He may not pick up the headlines but he very rarely lets Wolves down and has responded well to dropping out of the side of late.

That’s why the supporters were keen to show their appreciation for the star who reached that landmark yesterday and marked the occasion with a typically dependable performance.

He hasn’t let his head go down and continued pushing for a return to the side, giving 100 per cent when he got there against arguably the hardest side in the top flight to play against.

That rightly caught the eye of the supporters who seem to love him and were keen to congratulate him on his achievement.
