Romain Saiss helped Morocco beat Ivory Cost in the Africa Cup of Nations on Friday – and some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans on Twitter praised their player for his international performance.

The 29-year-old produced a stunning goal-line clearance at the beginning of the match and his team went on to secure a 1-0 victory in the group stage fixture.

Saiss has proven during his team at Molineux that he’s versatile, despite his preferred position being a defensive midfielder.

He’s played at centre-back at club level in the past and he did a brilliant job in defence for Morocco.

The left-footed ace is extremely composed on the ball, has a great range of passing, and is a strong tackler too.

His Morocco team could be considered dark horse to win the Africa Cup of Nations and the Wolves ace is one of their talented players.

A selection of Wolves fans on social media hailed Saiss for his defensive display.

He played just 26 times across all competitions last season, but stepped in brilliantly whenever needed and his versatility is such a useful thing for manager Nuno Espirito Santo to have in the squad.

The amount of games should rise due to European football next season and Saiss will surely get more action.
