Wolves fans praise Romain Saiss after Torino victory

Wolverhampton Wanderers qualified for the Europa League group stages by beating Torino on Thursday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter picked out midfielder Romain Saiss for his quality performance.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side went into the game leading 3-2 on aggregate after winning away at Italian outfit Torino in their Europa League play-off qualifier.

They got the job completed by winning 2-1 on the night at Molineux in the second leg and they are in the hat for the Europa League group draw on Friday.

Wolves striker Raul Jimenez continued his remarkable start to the season with the opening goal on Thursday night, as he steered in an Adama Traore cross at the near post.

Torino responded through Andrea Belotti’s header in the second-half, but soon after Leander Dendoncker scored a simple finish and secured a 5-3 aggregate success.

The West Midlands club have loved their European experience so far and that will now continue at least another six matches in the group stage.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media were delighted with the club’s European success and were particularly impressed by the display from Saiss.

Saiss has played just nine minutes in the opening three Premier League games so far, but been a go-to man in Europe and he proved against Torino his importance to the squad.

The 29-year-old Moroccan dropped into the midfield and offered excellent protection to the back three.

He’s certainly not going to start every week, but is reliable whenever he steps in and clearly understands Nuno’s system very well.
