Max Kilman made his second senior appearance of the season on Wednesday night – and some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans on Twitter were impressed with his performance.
The 22-year-old defender came into the side, as Wolves ended up beating Championship side Reading on penalties in the third round of the Carabao Cup.
The teams were level at 1-1 at Molineux after normal time, with the hosts going on to progress 4-2 on penalties.
Manager Nuno Espirito Santo made wholesale changes to his team, which is hardly surprising considering they are managing both domestic and European fixtures this season.
Kilman slotted into the left side of the back three and looked very assured with his performance.
The ball-playing centre-back is someone that is extremely confident in possession and he defended well against Reading.
A selection of Wolves supporters on social media were impressed with what they saw from Kilman in midweek.
He has not looked out of his depth when drafted into Nuno’s side so far and his task is to keep impressing whenever he can.
The English defender has a big task ahead if he wants to break into the team on a regular basis, but a busy fixture list should give him a sniff.
Here are some Wolves fans on Kilman:
Kilman was clearly MOTM. Absolutely brilliant.#wwfc

Deffo something there, like the look of him, speedy return hopefully. Kilman stood up well, looked solid. Perfect opportunity to expose these youngsters to the senior game, good to see 👍

Neto and Jordão both look quality young players, looking forward to seeing them develop in the coming years. Thought Kilman did well too, but has quite a mission to remove Boly from that position.

Cutrone’s goals will come, his movement and ability to hassle was and is second to none.
Neto was lively but needs to improve on his decision making which in time will probably come.
Max Kilman looked like a seasoned Pro, composed and physically imposing. Impressive #wwfc
