Wolves fans praise midfielder Ruben Neves after Leicester performance

Wolverhampton Wanderers recorded a goalless draw against Leicester City on Friday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter raved about midfielder Ruben Neves for the quality of his performance.

The Portugal international lined up in the midfield next to teammate Leander Dendoncker and put in an excellent display at Molineux.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side had to settle for a 0-0 draw in the Premier League fixture, which was the same scoreline as the reverse fixture earlier in the season at the King Power Stadium.

Wolves moved up to seventh temporarily in the league table after the draw, but were left feeling hard done by that they didn’t get more.

Willy Boly saw his goal ruled out amid more VAR controversy just before half-time due to an offside in the build-up, while visitors Leicester finished with 10 men following Hamza Choudhury’s dismissal in the 76th minute for a second booking.

Neves put in an eye-catching display for the hosts, as he looked classy in possession and put in a great shift too.

The 22-year-old is an ever-present in the team and gave a glimpse into why he’s regarded as one of the best young players around with his commanding display.

He didn’t have his usual midfield partner Joao Moutinho starting alongside him in the centre of the park and he was eventually replaced by him from the bench in the 81st minute.
