Wolves fans praise Adama Traore for pre-season performance

Adama Traore started for Wolverhampton Wanderers in a pre-season victory over Newcastle United on Wednesday – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter believe he was one of the standout performers.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side cruised to a 4-0 win in the Premier League Asia Trophy and face Manchester City next in the final.

Traore endured a tough first year at Molineux last season, as he failed to live up to the £18million (BBC) Wolves paid for him to sign him from Middlesbrough.

The 23-year-old is an attacker by trade that is renowned for his brute strength and lightning pace.

But he scored just one goal and supplied three assists in 36 games across all competitions for the West Midlands club.

The Spaniard is usually deployed as a winger, but it looks like Nuno has spotted something in his game to help him make an impact.

Traore slotted in as a right wing-back against Newcastle, where he attacked well when coming from deep and looked natural in the position.

He’s been tested rarely in the full-back area before, but Wolves always stick with that system and he could have a chance to compete with Matt Doherty for the wing-back role.

A selection of Wolves fans liked what they saw from Traore in pre-season and are confident he can improve on his first year.

Here are some Wolves supporters discussing Traore:
