Wolves are already enjoying a fantastic season upon their return to the Premier League and Nuno Santo’s team selection against Liverpool suggests they want to top it off with an FA Cup run.
There was little sign of rotation as the Old Gold put out a strong side at Molineux last night and were rewarded with a 2-1 victory against the table-topping Reds, via goals from Raul Jimenez and Ruben Neves.
They were facing a Liverpool side featuring nine changes from their last league engagement but Wolves’ backline provided the bedrock for an impressive victory and chief among the strong performers was Willy Boly.

The towering defender has made the step up to the Premier League with ease and put in another commanding display last night to keep Liverpool’s second string attackers – Xherdan Shaqiri, Daniel Sturridge and Divock Origi – very quiet indeed.
Wolves’ attacking players have grabbed the headlines at times this season, but Boly has been at the heart of a backline that has been the foundation for a side that has now got a result against every one of last season’s top six.
The supporters love him and were keen to show their appreciation on Twitter last night, in the afterglow of booking their place in the fourth round…
