Wolves fans hail Romain Saiss after his display against Leicester

Romain Saiss played 90 minutes in the home draw against Leicester City on Friday night – and some Wolverhampton Wanderers fans on Twitter singled him out for his display at Molineux.

Wolves were held to a 0-0 stalemate during the Premier League contest, which was overshadowed by more VAR controversy that saw defender Willy Boly see his goal chalked off near the end of the first-half.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side ended up with just one point and that lifts them to seventh in the league table, as they continue to chase down another European finish.

The West Midlands club now turn their attention to Thursday’s home match against Spanish outfit Espanyol in the first leg of a Round of 32 Europa League tie.

Wolves have had back-to-back goalless draws against third-placed Leicester this season in the league and will feel unfortunate not to get more out of them.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media picked out Saiss for his impressive display at the back against Leicester.

The 29-year-old once again slotted in at centre-back as part of the back three and has great versatility to switch between defence or midfield.

He is a Morocco international that was decisive with his tackling and he kept the left channel fairly quiet whenever Leicester striker Jamie Vardy tried to drift.
