Wolves fans hail Pedro Neto display after Olympiacos draw

Wolverhampton Wanderers earned a 1-1 away draw against Olympiacos on Thursday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter praised their wide man Pedro Neto for his performance.

Wolves picked up a vital away goal in their draw during the first leg of a Europa League last 16 and will now return to Molineux next week for the second leg with a slight advantage.

Greek hosts Olympiacos were down to 10 men inside the opening half an hour, as Ruben Semedo was shown a straight red card for his challenge on Diogo Jota.

Olympiacos took a surprise lead early in the second-half through Youssef El-Arabi, but the visitors did respond through Neto’s deflected effort from range after a free-kick routine.

Neto was introduced as a half-time substitute for the Premier League outfit and he made a bright impact on the game.

The 20-year-old winger injected some real pace and directness to his team, plus his powerful effort turned out to be a decisive equaliser.

He’s not been a regular starter in Nuno Espirito Santo’s side this season, but is now up to four goals and four assists across all competition to prove he’s a real star in the making.
