Diogo Jota was as instrumental as any Wolves player in last season’s dazzling promotion campaign but has struggled to adjust to life in the Premier League.
Perhaps the departure of Barry Douglas behind him has impacted his form or the step up in the quality of the opposition has limited his effectiveness, but whatever the issue, it looks as if it is behind the winger now.
The Portuguese wideman netted the winning goal as Wolves halted a poor run of form with a 2-1 win over Chelsea in midweek and followed that up with a storming performances against Newcastle yesterday.

Jota opened the scoring during a keenly-fought first half with a smart finish but Salomon Rondon and for most of the second half, it looked as if the ten-man Magpies would hold on for a 1-1 draw.
But Jota took centre stage once more in stoppage time; driving at an exhausted home defence and reaching the box unchallenged.
His shot was saved but Matt Doherty was on hand to head into an empty net. It was a matchwinning display from Jota and his fans were keen to hail a player who looks back to the red-hot form he showed in the second tier last season…
