Wolverhampton Wanderers overcame Manchester United on Saturday night in the FA Cup quarter-finals – and many of the club’s supporters on Twitter singled out Joao Moutinho for special praise.

Wolves booked their spot in the last four of the competition with a 2-1 home victory at Molineux and got the result that their performance warranted.

Manager Nuno Espirito Santo saw his side go toe-to-toe with English giants Manchester United and they eventually broke them down with two quick goals in the second-half.

Forward duo Raul Jimenez and Diogo Jota scored within six minutes of each other to send Molineux wild, while Marcus Rashford could only manage a 95th minute consolation for the visitors.

Some of the Wolves fans discussed the contribution of Moutinho against Manchester United and feel that he helped run the show.

The 32-year-old proved why he’s had such an established career by looking efficient in the midfield and took great care of the ball in possession.

His adventurous attacking dribble ended up leading to Jimenez’s opening goal for the hosts and he looked threatening all game.

Moutinho is a Portugal international that people assumed was coming towards the end of his career when he joined Wolves in the summer, but he’s been integral to Nuno’s team and there is definitely still much more in him.
