Wolves fans delighted by comments from striker Raul Jimenez

Wolverhampton Wanderers forward Raul Jimenez has pledged his future at Molineux with his recent comments – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter are thrilled with his update.

ESPN has reported that Premier League duo Tottenham and Arsenal are both interested in trying to sign the 28-year-old.

But the Mexico international has come out to explain he considers his future to be with Wolves and insists him staying with them isn’t dependent on securing Champions League football.

The West Midlands club are sixth in the Premier League table still in the mix for a Champions League finish, plus they are still in the Europa League knockouts.

“I have a contract with Wolves until 2023 and I don’t need to qualify for the Champions League to know I want to stay here,” Jimenez said during a Facebook Live session, as quoted by the club’s official website.

“We have done great things as a team; we have qualified for the Europa League and now we are within reach of a qualification for the Champions League.

“Playing the Champions League is of course an additional motivation to do your best and want to accomplish great things.”

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media are delighted with Jimenez’s comments and believe it’s essential they keep him for the long-term.

The striker’s current deal with the club still runs until 2023 and he’s played a major role in them establishing themselves back in the Premier League, which is why it’s no surprise teams are looking at hime.

He’s scored 22 goals and supplied 10 assists in 44 appearances across all competitions this season, making him the perfect all-round forward that can score different types of goals and bring others into play.
