Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered a 1-0 defeat at home to Braga on Thursday night – and some of the club’s supporters on Twitter criticised midfielder Leander Dendoncker for his performance.

Wolves started their Europa League group with a loss at Molineux against Portuguese opposition and the team are in a real poor spell of form.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were unable to find a way through their opponents and they were punished in the second-half.

Ryan Bennett lost possession for the hosts and Braga scored from the resulting counter attack, as Ricardo Horta’s effort fired in off the post.

The West Midlands club sailed through qualification to make the Europa League group stages, but apart from that there has been very little to cheers so far this season.

They have failed to win any of their opening five Premier League matches and the Thursday night defeat will have added to their misery.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media singled out Dendoncker for criticism after his display and feel he struggled.

The 24-year-old central midfielder is usually a great asset to the team with his energy all over the park, but missed a goalscoring chance against Braga and was a little off the pace.

He is a regular in the starting XI, but the Belgium international hasn’t found top gear yet this season like so many of his teammates.
