Wolves fans criticise Ruben Vinagre performance in FA Cup

Wolverhampton Wanderers could only manage a goalless draw at home to Manchester United on Saturday evening – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter slammed defender Ruben Vinagre for his performance.

Wolves drew 0-0 at Molineux against their Premier League opponents in the FA Cup third round, which means the teams will lock horns again in a replay at Old Trafford.

Nuno Espirito Santo’s side were nowhere near their fluent best going forward in the contest, while United weren’t much better.

Raul Jimenez and Marcus Rashford were both substituted on respectively for each team to give an attacking boost, but the deadlock was never broken and Matt Doherty saw a goal ruled out for the hosts after the ball hit his hand.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media singled out Vinagre for criticism for his display in the cup.

The 20-year-old left wing-back didn’t have too much defensive work to do, but going forward he was sloppy with his final ball.

He was replaced late on by teammate Jonny Otto, who had more of an attacking look about him during his cameo.

A selection of Wolves supporters on social media were frustrated with the Portuguese speed machine for his latest performance.
