Wolves have a genuine chance of winning this season’s FA Cup and booked their place in the quarter finals with a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Bristol City at Ashton Gate yesterday.
It was always going to be a tough afternoon against Lee Johnson’s side, who had not lost at home since November and have raced into the Championship play-off spots with a rampant recent run.
But Ivan Cavaleiro’s goal sealed the victory for Nuno Santo’s side, to book their place in a last eight that will contain just two of the Premier League’s top six.
Wolves have major ambitions and challenging for silverware is one of the quickest ways to put themselves on the map, which was reflected in the strong side Santo put out yesterday.

That meant that academy product Morgan Gibbs-White had to be content with a spot on the bench but he impressed once more when he came on, continuing his impressive development so far this season.
But he is still awaiting that elusive first goal and had a huge chance to secure it here, racing through on goal only to be denied by Frank Fielding as his composure failed him slightly.
He took to Twitter after the game to assure the fans that that first strike is coming and the supporters can’t wait to see him get on the scoresheet, while others feel that goal is going to come in the cup final at Wembley…
