Wolves fans amazed by Joao Moutinho performance against Liverpool

Wolverhampton Wanderers suffered a narrow defeat at home to Liverpool on Monday night – and some of the club’s fans on Twitter were amazed by the level of display from their midfielder Joao Moutinho.

Wolves were beaten 1-0 at Molineux last night in the Premier League fixture.

It was a fairly even contest where the hosts had 54 per cent possession against last year’s champions, and they got into some great attacking positions.

Unfortunately, Nuno Espirito Santo’s side couldn’t find the clinical final ball.

Ex-Wolves forward Diogo Jota was the match-winner for visitors Liverpool, as he scored on the stroke of half time with a low shot to finish off a slick offensive move.

The result means Wolves stay 13th in the division table on 35 points.

Despite yesterday’s loss, a selection of Wolves supporters on social media were extremely impressed by their individual Moutinho.

Moutinho, 34, delivered an all-action display for his team in the central midfield position, where he arguably got the better of Liverpool counterpart Thiago Alcantara.

The experienced Portuguese star put in one of his better displays in recent games, being extremely efficient in possession, and also doing some great defensive work off the ball.
