Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Max Kilman may have only played 11 senior games this season, but the club have to offer him a new contract to keep him at Molineux beyond the summer.
The 22-year-old is out of contract at Molineux at the end of the season and as it stands will become a free agent.
But the defender has managed to force his way into the first-team squad this season and has looked the part when called upon by senior manager Nuno Espirito Santo.
Kilman is an ex-England futsal international and has had a unique path into football, but has been at Wolves since 2018 since joining from non-league.
He is a ball-playing centre-back that has grown with confidence each game and it looks like he could have a real bright future ahead of him, which is why it would be foolish to allow him to leave through the exit doors.

Wolves opted to send experienced defender Ryan Bennett out on loan to Leicester City in January and that showed real faith in Kilman’s role within the squad.
Kilman has already had exposure on both the Premier League and Europa League stage to help his development.
He fits the mould perfectly for Wolves considering they prefer a three at the back system and he should only improve with more game time at the top level, so offering him a new deal seems a no-brainer.
