Adama Traore has reportedly caught the attention of Liverpool in recent months and Wolves loan chief Seyi Olofinjana has told Goal that the Spanish winger could leave the Midlands club, ahead of the summer window.
The Sun have claimed that 24-year-old Traore is being eyed by both Liverpool and Arsenal ahead of the summer window, after the former Barcelona star had a hand in 16 goals this season during his 43 league and cup appearances.
The report claims interested parties will have to spend in the region of £70million to land the powerhouse attacker, who boasts enormous pace and has now added an end product to his game – under the guidance of Nuno Espirito Santo.
Former Wolves player Olofinjana, who is now the club’s loan manager, stated that Traore could leave any time amid the reported interest in his signature – and heaped praise in the ex-Middlesbrough star for his performances.
“He is a good player and we’ve all seen what he is capable of doing. His sheer pace, power, goalscoring stint, skills on the ball and also running the length of the pitch,” Olofinjana said.
“In terms of what will happen to him going forward, the league has not ended, so we need to wait for that. We can’t ignore the fact that he has done very well for the club. Anybody can leave Wolves, he came from somewhere and he can leave any day.”
TBR’s view – Arsenal or Liverpool?
A move to Liverpool would see Traore play for Jurgen Klopp’s side in the Champions League, and have the best shot at achieving medals and success both in the Premier League and in Europe. He might not start every week, though.
A move to Arsenal would see Traore start week-in, week-out – either replacing Nicolas Pepe on the right flank or being used on the left. However, the Gunners might not even qualify for the Europa League.
The past has shown that Traore needs constant game time to get the best out of him. Arsenal, then, is the best move.
