Wolves are within touching distance of their best ever Premier League points haul as they travel to face bottom club Huddersfield tonight.
The Old Gold are currently level with their previous best of 40 – from the 2010/11 season when they beat relegation on the final day – and know that anything other than a defeat tonight would take them past the landmark with months of the current campaign.
As the record edges closer, Nuno Santo told the Express and Star: “There are no limits. There is always space to improve. I didn’t expect to have got ‘x’ or ‘y’ amount of points. I don’t work like that. We don’t look at the points, we don’t look at the results, we will always focus on our performance.
“Individual improvement improves the team. This is the way we look at players: He must improve, then the team will improve and the club will become better. Every time a Wolves player puts on his shirt, he has an obligation. This obligation does not go much further than ‘give everything you have’.”

The fact that Wolves’ previous record came in a season where they stayed up by the skin of their teeth just underlines the contrast in their ambition and quality this time around.
Santo has transformed the entire squad and changed the mentality of the club and deserves to be the man who oversees the result that takes them past the 40-point threshold needed to set the record.
They’ve got every chance of doing exactly that tonight but know what Huddersfield are capable of after losing to them at Molineux earlier this season.
