Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Bright Enobakhare has told Birmingham Live that he is fully focused on doing well for Coventry City.

The 21-year-old joined the Sky Blues in January after a miserable first half of the campaign at Kilmarnock.

His form has helped Mark Robins’ side to the brink of the League One play-off places.

Off the field issues have occurred again at Coventry. Rugby Union outfit Wasps are refusing to allow City to use the Ricoh Arena for their home matches beyond the end of the current campaign.

The Wolves academy man says he is fully focused on the task in hand, however.

He told Birmingham Live: “We just have to keep our heads up.

“We don’t have to think about it, we only have to focus completely on where we’re going. Reaching the play-offs is our aim.”

Enobakhare is out of contract with Wolves during the summer and admits he doesn’t know what the future holds.

Boss Nuno Espirito Santo played the youngster 26 times as Wolves romped to the Championship title last season and hinted at a desire to earn a new contract.

He said: “I don’t know to be honest. I just want to keep my head straight and focus on my game.

“It was good playing with those good players. I learned a lot and I think my mentality is now different. Hopefully, when I go back I can showcase myself.”

TBR Verdict

After a frustrating first half of the season, Enobakhare is now finding his feet at Coventry City.

The Nigerian-born striker is clearly a handful at League One level as four goals in 10 games proves.

He did only notch once last season in the Championship last season, however, and that might not have been enough to earn himself a new contract.

With Wolves now under the influence of owners who are willing to splash the cash, Enobakhare could be sent on his way in a quest for first-team football.
