Leeds United are reportedly interested in trying to sign Wolverhampton Wanderers attacker Ivan Cavaleiro this month.

According to the Sun, the Championship table toppers want to land the Premier League ace on loan for the rest of the season.

It is understood that Whites manager Marcelo Bielsa has targeted the Wolves powerhouse and they will now weigh up whether or not to let him depart Molineux.

It’s unclear on if Leeds will get this deal over the line, but it seems like their promotion bid is going full speed ahead after already signing Real Madrid goalkeeper Kiko Casilla this month.

Cavaleiro has scored three goals in 16 appearances for Wolves so far this season, but has struggled to make himself a regular starter.

The Portugal international is a versatile attacker that can play as a striker or winger, with his electric pace and strength making him tough for defenders to handle.

He would give Leeds a different type of option in the final third and has already proven he is cut out for a promotion charge.

Cavaleiro was promoted from the Championship last season with Wolves, as he scored nine times and assisted 12 in the league.

Even if the deal can only be agreed on loan, it’s the type of recruitment that’s likely to see Leeds stay at the top of the table.
