Wolves attacker Adama Traore has to be pushing for a start

Wolverhampton Wanderers were held to a 1-1 draw away to Bournemouth on Saturday in the Premier League, but did fight back from a goal down for a point.

Josh King scored one penalty and missed another for the hosts, while Raul Jimenez converted a penalty late on for the visitors.

The result means the West Midlands club are eight-placed in the league table and only behind seventh-placed Watford on goal difference.

Wolves weren’t quite at their fluent best on the road, but there was a huge positive to come out of Adama Traore’s performance.

The 23-year-old turned the game on its head when he was introduced as a substitute and surely has to be twisting the arm of manager Nuno Espirito Santo to force him into a start.

Traore hasn’t started a league fixture during 2019, but is really staking his claim when he features off the bench and must be in the manager’s thoughts.

His blistering pace was extremely effective against Bournemouth and his crossing into the penalty area too was on point.

He’s certainly not quite delivered yet since his summer switch to Molineux, but showed flashes of brilliance once again away to Bournemouth and that can only be a good sign.

Wolves face Huddersfield Town and Cardiff City in their next two league fixtures, which could be the perfect time to unleash Traore.
