Serge Gnabry starred for Bayern Munich as they defeated Tottenham Hotspur 7-2, before reminding Spurs fans that he used to play for Arsenal by posting “North London is red” on Instagram – and he gained plenty of reaction from his-Arsenal teammates.

Gnabry, 24, found the back of the net four times, rinsing Serge Aurier on multiple occasions before putting the ball past Hugo Lloris. Bayern’s explosive finishing caught the eye, as the German champions put Spurs to the sword.

Robert Lewandowki also scored twice while Joshua Kimkich cancelled out Son Heung-min’s opener with an excellent drive from all of 25 yards. Harry Kane scored a consolation from the penalty spot after a foul on Danny Rose.

Gnabry, who left Arsenal in the summer of 2016 to join Werder Bremen before moving to Bayern – amid a loan at Hoffenheim – has now scored 22 goals in 51 outings for Bayern and he posted on Instagram after the match.

The defeat leaves Tottenham in disarray, more so than they were before they started the match. Seven goals conceded at home is Spurs’ worst defensive performance in their European history. Ironically, a former Arsenal man made sure of that.

Gnabry’s former Arsenal teammates reacted on the Germany international’s Instagram post, including Jack Wilshere and Wojciech Szczesny, who are renowned for their hatred of Spurs. Arsenal star Calum Chambers also reacted.
