‘Wits going on with this bhoy?’: Some Celtic fans truly baffled over £2m ace

A number of Celtic fans have been left baffled by Marian Shved’s absence from the Hoops line-up in Monday afternoon’s Reserve Cup semi-final win over Hibs.

The Ukraine international has barely got a look in at Celtic under Neil Lennon this season, with just three first-team appearances – all off the bench.

Shved was signed by Brendan Rodgers shortly before he quit Celtic for Leicester City, the player subsequently seeing out the season on loan back at Karpaty Lviv.

The 22-year-old, who cost a reported £2million (Scottish Sun) finished the 2018-19 season with an impressive 15 goals and four assists from 26 appearances in all competitions (Transfermarkt).

Therefore, there were high hopes amongst fans that Shved would be able to make an impact for the defending treble Treble champions.

Shved impressed last week by getting on the scoresheet in the behind-closed-doors 4-0 win over Aberdeen, and there were hopes that he could have given Lennon some food for thought.

However, not only did he not make the Celtic team for the Kilmarnock game, and has been cut from the Europa League squad, but now hasn’t featured at reserve level.

Hence a number of unhappy Celtic fans on social media:
