With Tottenham’s midfield lacking creativity, could Jack Roles be the answer?

With Dele Alli having spent a spell on the sidelines while Christian Eriksen still appears to be regaining full match fitness, Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino is desperately hunting for creativity in the middle of the park.

He may find that the spark he needs is actually close than he may think in the form of 19-year-old prodigy Jack Roles.

The Cyprus under 21 international has been in incredible form from the middle of the park for the club’s under 23s team, scoring three goals and providing a further three assists in 11 games.

Given Mauricio Pochettino’s willingness to put his faith in young talents when required and with few options available to him after a summer without any signings, Roles could be closing in on a first team debut.

The teenager could feature in one of the upcoming cup competitions as it seems unlikely that he will be risked in a Premier League game, particularly with Alli returning to fitness.

Roles has huge potential and could still become a real asset for Tottenham, possibly even sooner than he or anyone else may expect.
