Only days after The Mirror linked Liverpool with a move for Leicester City’s Ben Chilwell as a replacement for Alberto Moreno, who looks set to leave for free this summer, the England international put pen to paper on a new contract at the King Power Stadium.
That leaves Liverpool with a conundrum of how to handle the left-back situation, one which is currently comfortably in the hands of Andrew Robertson as first choice.
It seems unlikely that this news would impact the future of Moreno, with the Spaniard still expected to depart to get regular football after three seasons as little more than a reserve option.

That means that Jurgen Klopp must now turn his attentions to Adam Lewis. The 18-year-old has been outstanding for the Reds throughout the youth ranks and has trained with the first team of late.
Lewis has been marked as one for the future, but if he is to step up into a first team role as of next season he may be blooded sooner than expected, as was the case with Trent Alexander-Arnold.
Few doubt that he has the potential to make the step up based on his recent form, but it’s a challenge that both Klopp and Lewis must face to continue his development.
