Leicester City midfielder Dennis Praet was the saviour for Belgium last night as the on-loan Torino star scored the sole goal for the Red Devils against Belarus.

The 27-year-old playmaker struck in the 33rd minute to give the number one ranked nation in the world the three points. The result further extended Roberto Martinez’s dominance of Group E.

Belgium sit top of the group with 16 points after six games, with Praet playing regularly for the European giants. The midfielder departed Leicester this summer on loan for a return to Italy.

The Foxes signed Praet from Sampdoria in 2019 for a reported fee of £18m, yet despite arriving with a huge reputation from both Serie A and Belgium, the midfielder struggled to adapt to the Premier League.

Indeed, under Brendan Rodgers, Praet found it hard to nail down a spot in the first-team. Whilst Belgium teammate Youri Tielemens has flourished with the Foxes.

Yet despite this, Praet is a fan favourite at the King Power. And Leicester fans on social media couldn’t believe that the midfielder score for Belgium last night.

Here’s what some supporters had to say about Praet’s goal on Twitter…
