A number of Sunderland fans have taken to Twitter to praise the Black Cats for signing Callum Doyle on loan.
Sunderland announced the 17-year-old defender’s season-long loan arrival from Manchester City on Friday afternoon.
Doyle was a key figure for his club’s Under-23s last season, helping them win the Premier League 2 title.

He made 12 U23s appearances and also played in two EFL Trophy matches.
Doyle even helped City’s Under-18s win their league title, making 14 appearances for them.
The 6ft 3in talent has joined up with Lee Johnson’s first-team squad ahead of their pre-season trip to Scotland.
And Sunderland fans are delighted with Doyle’s arrival:
Sunderland boss: “We are delighted”
Johnson told the Sunderland media team: “We are grateful to Man City for believing in us as a club to be able to help develop somebody like Callum.
“He is a very talented player, but obviously he is still very young, so the expectation of him in terms of the first team is that we are quietly confident he can have a big impact as time goes on.

“At 6ft 3in, he is very good technically, can carry the ball and has a lovely left foot, but of course man-on-man combat is what he has to break through and be comfortable with.
“Overall, we are delighted to put him amongst our squad and believe that he can be a real positive for us.”
