Callum Wilson thinks Newcastle will have a big advantage against Tottenham on Sunday in terms of freshness after the international break.

Wilson is injured and will miss the clash at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium but offered his verdict on the upcoming clash on the Footballer’s Football Podcast.

The Englishman thinks that having come off the back of a warm weather training trip to Dubai and not having had so many players on international duty, Newcastle will be more rested.

“It will be a tough game,” he said.

“They have some good players, but players who are also away on international duty.

“Hopefully they have not had that rest and re-set, so they will be coming in a little big fatigued whereas our boys, we have not had so many away and have had week in Dubai and things like that.”

Newcastle have been resurgent since the takeover and there has been an upturn since the January transfer window, with Eddie Howe doing a great job.

They have suffered late 1-0 losses in their last two matches and Howe will be hoping that the break and the time away has let his side get over that.

This will not be an easy game for Spurs but it is one they need to win in their chase for Champions League football next season.
