William Saliba now makes interesting claim about the atmosphere at Tottenham Hotspur's stadium

Arsenal fans will still be revelling in their win over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London Derby on Sunday.

Mikel Arteta’s side dominated proceedings at they extended their lead at the top of the Premier League.

Arsenal defender William Saliba spoke after the match, via the Daily Mail.

The Frenchman has been brilliant for the Gunners this season after several years away from the club on loan.

His introduction to the side is one of the many triumphs of Arteta’s team this campaign.

Alongside Gabriel Magalhaes, they’ve formed one of the best defensive partnerships in the league.

Saliba was asked after the match about the atmosphere at Tottenham’s stadium.

The 21-year-old has already played in some of Europe’s most intimidating stadiums.

A visit to Marseille’s Stade Velodrome is also an intense experience for any away side.

And Arsenal fans may be pleased to hear what Saliba has to say about their nearest rivals’ ground.

Saliba comments on Tottenham’s atmosphere

The Frenchman was asked after the match if the atmosphere was better at Spurs or Marseille.

“No, Marseille is better. I promise you it is much better!” Saliba said.

“But it was a big atmosphere today as well and I was prepared for this game.”

It’s hard to disagree that Tottenham’s new ground is one of the most impressive venues in world football.

The giant South Stand creates an impressive wall of fans for every Spurs home game.

However, they were quickly silenced by Arsenal’s fast start on Sunday, as they settled into the game immediately.

Tottenham once again started slowly, and allowed their opponents to race into a two-goal lead.

Despite a second-half improvement, Arsenal comfortably came away from the game having done a historic double over Tottenham.

Saliba may not have been too worried about the atmosphere at Tottenham’s ground, but he now has other priorities to concentrate on.

ESPN believe that his representatives will meet with Arsenal next week to further discuss a new contract.

After rejecting a first offer earlier in the month, Arsenal fans will hope Saliba decides to extend his stay at The Emirates.
