Aston Villa host Bolton Wanderers on Friday night in the Championship and supporters must be debating whether they will actually see Yannick Bolasie start a match.
The speed machine is currently on a season-long loan from Everton and has been used as a substitute in all eight of his appearances so far this campaign in the Championship.
He is a winger with brilliant pace and trickery, something he’s shown in the past frequently in the Premier League.
But he struggled to make an impact under Steve Bruce at the beginning of the campaign and new Villa manager Dean Smith is yet to start him during his opening three games in charge.
The Midlands giants are at home to Bolton in their next league match and adding Bolasie to the line up would give them some extra creativity in the final third.
The 29-year-old made a bright cameo off the bench in the last game during the 1-0 defeat to QPR, where he put some testing crosses into the penalty area and it may be time to hand him his first Villa start.
But he’s currently behind teammate Ahmed Elmohamdy in the pecking order for the right-winger position.
The 31-year-old is inconsistent as a wide man and doesn’t possess the talent of Bolasie, but has been directly involved in six goals so far this season to leave Smith with a dilemma.
