West Ham have one of the most difficult games of the season on paper on Saturday afternoon when they host Manchester City at the London Stadium.
Pep Guardiola’s side are the reigning English champions and sit top of the table this season unbeaten after 12 games.
They have conceded just five league goals so far, with the centre-back pairing of Aymeric Laporte and John Stones proving formidable.
Most teams have barely laid a glove on the defensive duo, but can Marko Arnautovic succeed where most have failed?
Arnautovic can be pleased with his individual start to the campaign by scoring five times already and he’s made the centre-forward position his own.
The Austria international has become the talisman at the club since his £20million (BBC) arrival from Stoke City in 2017 and is the player his teammates often look towards.
He may be exactly the type of player that can get at the Manchester City centre-backs, as he’s extremely unpredictable at times and has technical ability to go along with his pure strength.
He may need to play ugly at times to try ruffle the feathers of the defenders, but he’s more than capable of filling that role.
Arnautovic has already scored against Arsenal and Manchester United so far this campaign, but he can really show his top-class ability by putting on a top performance against the table toppers.
