Will Tottenham goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga make breakthrough next season?

Tottenham are facing an exciting season ahead of them, where they could have new signings in their squad and will be looking to build on their runners-up finish in the Champions League.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino has a talented group of players and just needs to get them over the line for silverware.

Hugo Lloris has been the captain and undisputed number one goalkeeper during Pochettino’s reign.

But it will be intriguing to see if that changes in the 201920 campaign.

France international Lloris is likely to enter the new season as the number one and has a wealth of experience.

The 32-year-old is calm in possession and a decent shot-stopper, but he’s been guilty of several individual errors in recent years.

Gazzaniga is his understudy at Spurs right now and he should be optimistic of getting more chances next year, perhaps even pushing him for the number one jersey.

Gazzaniga played in 11 games across all competitions last season for Spurs and hardly put a foot wrong in goal.

The Argentinian kept four clean sheets and he looks a quality goalkeeper that is at the level required to be the club’s first-choice option in net.

With Lloris appearing to be on the decline, it’s up to Gazzaniga to make the most of every opportunity that comes his way and there should be more going into the next season.

Pochettino is certainly loyal to his players, but surely Lloris is walking a tightrope when it comes to individual errors.
