'What are you talking about?': O'Hara stunned by what TalkSPORT presenter has said about Cristian Romero today

Jamie O’Hara was at his fiery and passionate best in the TalkSPORT studio today, as he discussed all things Tottenham and their World Cup players.

Spurs had players involved right until the very end as Hugo Lloris came out on the losing side against Cristian Romero’s Argentina team. In a game decided on penalties, Lloris could do little to help the French win out and it was left for Lionel Messi’s charges to complete the dream.

Of course, minds are now shifting back to domestic action. And with the Premier League due to return on Boxing Day, there are question marks over whether players like Romero and Lloris will start.

But when quizzed by Natalie Sawyer and Dean Saunders on Romero in particular and him having time off to celebrate the World Cup win, O’Hara snapped back and insisted he should return.

“What are you talking about?,” O’Hara snapped back at Sawyer when she suggested Romero wouldn’t be back.

“It’s the 19th December. They’re playing on the 26th. That’s plenty of time to have a few days in Buenos Aires to live the life but I’m expecting Romero back to start against Brentford. We need him.”

TBR’s View: Romero should come back for Tottenham v Brentford

O’Hara is right here. Yes, winning the World Cup is a huge achievement and one Romero should celebrate with his family and friends in Argentina.

However, he needs to refocus quickly and get back to England to help Tottenham. The festive period can be crucial in a season and it’s this time of year where the table can really start to take shape.

Romero was brilliant for Argentina throughout the World Cup. But he needs to come back to Spurs and maybe even use some of that positive energy he’ll have to energise Spurs even more.
