Tottenham have had rotten luck with injuries this season.
James Maddison, Manor Solomon and Rodrigo Bentancur have all missed significant periods of this season with injury.
However, the most frustrating injury issue at Tottenham this season has been the injury to Micky Van de Ven.
The Dutchman missed most of November and all of December with a hamstring problem, and Spurs, quite simply, weren’t the same team without the 22-year-old.
Speaking on the Premier League All Access Podcast, Scott Minto has been discussing Van de Ven and his importance to this Spurs team, and he says that if the £35m man gets injured again, Tottenham will not be the same team.

Micky Van de Ven injury would affect Tottenham
Minto spoke about the defender.
“What you need and what they’ll be aiming for is having three or four centre-halves who have that kind of pace as well. Romero is quick, but he’s not lightning, but if Van de Ven gets another injury, Spurs will not be the same side,” Minto said.
Not as crucial
Van de Ven is unbelievably important to this Tottenham team, but an injury at this point perhaps wouldn’t be as damaging as it was last time.
Indeed, while Tottenham didn’t have a Van de Ven replacement available to them back in November, the January signing of Radu Dragusin has changed things somewhat.
Let’s not forget, Spurs had to use a centre-back pairing of Ben Davies and Emerson Royal throughout most of that period Van de Ven was sidelined last time, but if it happens again, Spurs will be able to call on Dragusin and Cristian Romero – that’s a pretty significant upgrade.
Of course, in an ideal world, Van de Ven won’t get injured again, but if he does, Spurs should be able to cope better than they did last time.
