Newcastle United attacker Ayoze Perez is a complete anomaly, as he can go from a world beater to completely invisible in the space of a week.

The 25-year-old can be extremely frustrating for the St James’ Park faithful to deal with and this season has hardly hit dizzy heights.

He’s been unable to build on his 10-goal tally from the last campaign yet and managed just one goal in 14 games across all competitions, but that was a winner against Watford that has sparked their current three-game winning streak.

The Spaniard usually plays in the number 10 role behind the striker and manager Rafael Benitez usually sticks with him due to his work-rate and endeavour.

Perez can be quite a streaky player that can be dangerous when he gets on a confident run and supporters would love for that to be during a busy December.

The North East club play West Ham, Wolves and Fulham all at home in December, while they have trips to Everton, Huddersfield, Liverpool and Watford.

Newcastle’s season could be defined by how they perform over the festive period and they are going to need players from all over the park to chip in with goals.

Perez is yet to deliver on his part of the bargain, but it would be no surprise to see him prove everyone wrong again.
