Will Liverpool or Everton win the race for prolific Polish striker Lukasz Teodorczyk?

The Mirror report that both Liverpool and Everton are set to do battle over Anderlecht’s 26-year-old striker Lukasz Teodorczyk in an attempt to bring him to Merseyside after a prolific season, in which he scored 30 goals in 53 games for the Belgian outfit.

On loan from Ukranian side Dynamo Kyiv, Anderlecht made the move permanent for £3.8 million at the end of this season and are now demanding at least £10 million to sell the Polish international, who has 12 caps and four international goals to his name, with Spanish side Sevilla also interested.

What would he bring to Anfield or Goodison Park?

The top scorer in the Jupiler Pro League this season, Teodorczyk is a clinical finisher who has a reputation for being able to find the back of the net for the most extreme of angles. A good all rounder, Teodorczyk is a real poacher who is happy getting his head on the end of crosses just as much as he is with the ball at his feet drifting in an out of defenders.

Wearing the number 91 for Anderlecht this season, he could provide a physical and strong option up front which could replace Romelu Lukaku if the Belgian does leave the Toffees, whilst he would also offer a different dimension to the Liverpool attack which they don’t currently possess.

Is a move likely?

He may only have put pen to paper on a three year contract with Anderlecht in the past few weeks, but it does not mean that a move is impossible. With an option to make his loan move permanent for just £3.8 million, the Belgians will have signed him knowing that they could sell him on for profit almost immediately.

A very popular figure after firing his new side to the league title, Teodorczyk may not be in a real hurry to leave Belgium already, but at 26 years of age, he will equally be aware that he may not have many other opportunities to make a move to England or Spain and take his career to the next level.
