'This is massive': Jamie O'Hara is convinced £12m player will be in Tottenham's starting XI on Boxing Day

Jamie O’Hara believes there is no excuse for Hugo Lloris to miss Tottenham’s game with Brentford on Boxing Day next weekend.

Spurs return to action on the Monday and having had a number of players at the World Cup, Antonio Conte will have some big decisions to make.

Richarlison has picked up an injury, while Heung-Min Son should be ok to play. However, both Hugo Lloris and Cristian Romero played in yesterday’s final.

But when it comes to Lloris in particular, TalkSPORT’s O’Hara believes the Frenchman simply has to get back to north London and help Spurs into the top four ASAP.

“You’d hope so. Look, it’s the winter World Cup at the end of the day. You’ve got to get straight back into it. There’ll be players who miss Carabao Cup games but you can’t miss a Premier League game.

“You’ve got to come back. This is massive now. Tottenham have got to get into the top four in the Champions League so I’m expecting him back,” O’Hara said on Lloris being back.

Lloris was agonisingly close to picking up two World Cups in a row for France. However, he failed to save any of Argentina’s penalties while Emi Martinez kept out Kingsley Coman’s effort.

TBR’s View: Lloris needs to play for Tottenham against Brentford

A week is more than enough time for Lloris to get his head right and come back to Hotspur Way. Yes, he probably needs a few days to recover, given the mental side of losing such a big game.

But ultimately, he can have his extended time off next summer. Tottenham need him more than ever and he showed over in Qatar just how good he can be.

O’Hara is right here in fairness to him. Lloris needs to come back and play against Brentford, it’s as simple as that.
